Claes Tingvall is director of traffic safety at the Swedish Road Administration. He has held traffic safety-related positions since 1976, and published in the areas of injury epidemiology, vehicle occupant protection and design methods for in-depth analyses of accident data. More recently, Professor Tingvall was director of Monash University Accident Research Centre in Australia, where he still holds a professorship. Since 2004, he has been chairman of EuroNCAP.
