She was the primary researcher for a review of fatigue risk management systems for the UK road transport industry commissioned by the Department for Transport.

Carina has designed and delivered fatigue management training for safety-critical workers and schedulers at a number of organisations. She has also conducted actigraphy studies, designed surveys, and conducted roster analyses for the road transport and aviation industries.

She has presented at a range of industry conferences and also lectures on Driver Fatigue at Cranfield University as part of their MSc course in Driver Behaviour and Education.
